Here, you can find everything you need to know about us without having to leave the comfort of your own home. However, if you would like to come visit us in person, you are more than welcome to drop in any time for a personal tour and see all of our wagging tails (although avoid weekends, they get pretty busy). You may even bring your pet to take the tour with you. After all, your pet will be the one staying here. Our staff is very friendly and will be more than happy to give you and your pup a personal tour of our facilities any afternoon – just give us a call to set up a time. ย We are located on Hull street in Chesterfield, 8 miles from Woodlake on the same side of the road.
We treat every pet the way we would want our pets cared for when we travel.

Special Needs
-
Medications
We give medications (including injections) on the same schedule you would at home. We have many regular customers whose pets need insulin and food given at 12 hour intervals and we are pros at getting dogs and cats to swallow their pills! The Medications Tracking Report to keep tight control over the process and a supervisor reviews the reports to ensure medication are given accurately and timely.

TLC
Pets that are staying with us for the first time are automatically added to the TLC Report. Also, any pet with special care issues (e.g. upset stomach, sore leg, recent surgery) are added to the TLC Report for daily checks by the staff for monitoring and a little extra petting time and check-ups to make sure they are adjusting to the kennel and improving.
-
Wellness Checks
Every pet is checked daily and documented with our Wellness Report to ensure that no issues are emerging during their stay. Here are some of the things we watch for:
- A very active dog might spend too much time in its dog run, running and jumping that it gets sore feet or even tears a toe nail and we must close the dog in for part of each day.
- An older dog that lays in one position too long might get sores under the upper joint of a fore leg.
- Some dogs are picky eaters and need a little extra something added to get them started.
- Dog doors that are not working properly might prevent a dog from going outside to its dog run.
Vaccinations
-
About Vaccinations…
We require all pets to be healthy and flea free.
All boarded pets should be treated with a flea prevention product such as Frontline, Revolution or Advantix.ย ย It can be purchased from your veterinarian.ย Be sure to ask for tips on applying it.
-
Cats
Cats must have a current rabies shot.ย We defer to your veterinarian for any additional shots your cat may need โ many vets do not recommend vaccinating against feline leukemia.ย Please ask your vet to send a fax or call us to confirm vaccination requirements.
-
Dogs
Dogsย need to be current for all of the following vaccinations:
- Bordetella (kennel cough) – should be given at least 5 days before boarding
- Rabies
- Distemper/Corona/Parvo (generally given as a single injection once annually, then every 3 years in mature dogs)
- We accept your vet’s print-out as documentation for all shots.ย You can bring the documents with you at check in or ask your vet to fax them to 804-200-5115.ย Most vets are very happy to help with this!
Please understand that the bordetella vaccination prevents fewer than 50% of all canine cold viruses and your pet is still susceptible after being vaccinated (similar to the flu shot that you might get).ย If we suspect a pet is showing symptoms we take the following precautions immediately:
- Remove theย dog from kennel to a separate room
- Notify you and your veterinarian
- Take the dog to the vet if symptoms persist
Bordetella is an airborne pathogen and the best prevention is good airflow. We ensure that fresh air is pulled in through small cracks in the dog doors and exhausted through the roof to reduce the risk of infection.ย ย We NEVER allow dogs from different families to share water or toys, as that can also cause the spread of germs.
